To clean up some of the melancholy from the previous post, here are some shiny new additions to the bookshelf, part of which has been purchased thanks to credit card points :)

The pillow book by Sei Shonagon

The Cilappattikaram (the tale of an anklet),

The absent traveller (Prakrit love poetry from the Gathasaptasati of Satavahana Hola)

The last 3 books were Jerry's recommendations and the last one in particular is perhaps the first work from Prakrit that I have laid my hands on. Merry times ahead
